Game Notes vs. Spokane

Tonight’s Preview: The Rockets and Chiefs are meeting for just the second time this season. These two teams met last Saturday in Spokane in a 2-1 Chiefs win. Following tonight’s contest these two teams will meet against in Spokane February 19th before concluding the seasonal series February 27th in Kelowna. The Rockets are coming off a 4-3 loss last night to the Everett Silvertips. The Tips scored three-first period goals and had a 3-1 lead after one period, and had a 4-1 lead just three minutes into the second period. The Rockets would rally though, with back-to-back goals from Justin Bernhardt and Jamie Benn to make it a one goal game. The Rockets were out-shot 27-26 in the game, while going 2 for 8 with the man advantage. The Rockets tonight are playing game two of a three game home-stand. The Rockets host Vancouver Wednesday before returning to the road to face Kamloops Friday night. Overall the Rockets have lost two straight games and have lost four of their first five home games. The only home win this season was a 5-0 victory over Calgary October 10th.

Head-to-Head Play: The Rockets are 10-0-0-1 in their last 11 games at home against Spokane dating back to the start of the 2002-2003 season. The Chiefs snapped a 10 game losing streak in Kelowna last season with a 3-2 win in a shootout. Over those 11 games, the Rockets have shutout the Chiefs 4 times.
